Today I want to share the Ripple Chevron Crochet Lapghan pattern. I’m really happy with how it turned out as I had restarted this blanket about 4 times before I settled on the Ripple Chevron Stitch. I wanted to make sure it was balanced between the yellow and variegated blue ,yarn.
Design
The Ripple Chevron Stitch is a 1 row repeat using a combination of single crochet and double crochet stitches. I’ve done another chevron stitch blanket in the past and I really love how it flows visually. Plus once you get the hang of the pattern, it moves along pretty quickly.
For the border I wanted to clean up the sides of the blanket to help even it out. So I did 2 rows of single crochet stitches; one in each color. I think it finished off the sides nicely. And then I added 4 tassels; one to each corner to round out the blanket. I really like how the tassels add a little something special to the lapghan but don’t take away from the Ripple Chevron stitch.
Materials
The whole design of the lapghan was focused around the yarn colors. I really love the color yellow and thought it would go great with the variegated blue yarn; it was just about finding the right combination to make it beautiful. I love Caron Simply Soft yarn and have used it for several projects – to me it feels so soft. And I also used a size H hook (5mm) hook as I find that works great with the Caron Simply soft yarn.
