Crochet Tulip Stitch Striped Blanket

For today’s post, I’m going to share the Crochet Tulip Stitch Striped Blanket pattern. I wanted to choose an easy 1 row repeat pattern and I really loved the look and texture of this stitch.

Design

The Tulip Stitch is a combination of chains, single crochet, and double crochet stitches.

I’ve seen random striped blanket patterns and I really love the look of them. So this was the pattern to try it out on. What’s so cool is that there are several websites out there where you can plug in the colors, the number of rows you want, and then it generates it for you. Here’s a link to the one I used for this project: Random Stripe Generator.

For the color combination, I had this yarn on hand and really wanted to use it up. I love the color yellow so that was an easy choice. And I thought the pink and white were nice compliments to the yellow. I really love how the colors worked so well for this blanket.

With the Crochet Tulip Stitch, it left a decorative edging on the side of the blanket. So I decided it didn’t need any addition of a border.

And an added bonus with this stitch, is that there is no “right” side to the blanket. Each side looks equally beautiful.

Materials

For the hook size, I used a US I/9 (5.5 mm) crochet hook which is what the yarn suggested. I think it helped the Tulip Stitch to work up beautifully.

For the yarn, I used Bernat Bundle Up yarn and let me say this is some of the softest yarn I’ve used. It feels so snuggly and warm. Plus I really loved how vibrant the colors are.
