If you’re looking for a relaxing Tunisian crochet project that produces a beautiful, reversible fabric with just the right amount of texture, this Tunisian Seed Stitch Rectangle Shawl is for you. It’s beginner-friendly once you master the basic Tunisian stitches, works up at a satisfying pace, and creates a versatile rectangular wrap perfect for layering, gifting, or cozying up by the fire.

Why You’ll Love This Pattern
Texture: The seed stitch combination gives a lovely pebbled look that’s similar to knitted seed stitch but with that signature Tunisian drape.
Reversible: Both sides look great—no “wrong side” worries.
Minimal curling: Unlike many Tunisian projects, this one stays relatively flat.
Customizable: Easily adjust the width or length to make a scarf, stole, or full shawl.
Yarn-friendly: Works beautifully with DK or worsted weight yarn.

Design
The Shawl pattern is beginner-friendly thanks to its easy two-row repeat. You’ll only need to know Tunisian Knit Stitch and Tunisian Purl Stitch to create the shawl. And the foundation row consists of an even number of chain. This stitch is very customizable to the width or length needed.
Materials
For the Tunisian Seed Stitch Shawl pattern, I used Caron Simply Soft yarn in Gray Heather, but for this shawl you can use any #4 worsted weight yarn. I used a size J (6mm) Tunisian hook which worked well with the stitch and yarn combination.
