This crochet baby blanket was created for a co-worker. I wanted to make something for their big day and it had to be gender neutral since they are keeping it a surprise!
Design
When designing this blanket I wanted to find some easy crochet stitches that created a quick, yet beautifully textured baby blanket. While paging through Pinterest , I came across the Even Moss stitch and loved the look and texture of it. So the green sections of the blanket are done in the Even Moss stitch. The Even Moss stitch consists of a one row repeat using a slip stitch and half double crochet stitch. I wanted to contrast the green a little so I chose white yarn and I wanted a little bit different stitch to help separate the two colors, so the white was done using the Half Double crochet stitch.
Materials
Since this is a baby blanket, Caron Simply Soft is the perfect yarn for the job. It has a super soft feel and comes in so many color choices. Plus I find the the yarn is easy to work with. For the color selection, I chose Pistachio and White. And I used a size I (5mm) crochet hook.
