Today I want to share the Suzette Stitch Crochet Baby Blanket and I’m really happy with how it turned out. With it being a one row repeat, once you get used to the stitch, it moves along pretty quickly. I made this blanket for a relative who just recently had a baby.
Design
The Suzette Stitch is a 1 row repeat using a combination of single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet stitch variations. I’ve been wanting to try the Suzette Stitch for a while, and realized this was the perfect opportunity. It provides beautiful texture while also keeping the stitches tight so little baby finger and toes don’t get caught.
For the border I wanted something with a little dimension to it and thought the Ribbed Border stitch was perfect for it. It alternates between front post and back post double crochet stitches. And with using the Ribbed Border stitch there’s A LOT of flexibility in adjusting how large or small you want the border to be.
Materials
With this baby blanket, I needed to keep it gender neutral as my family was keeping the gender a surprise. I love use variegated yarn like Lion Brand Bundle of Love as it is consists of a handful of colors: Pink, Blue, Yellow, and White. Plus this yarn is extremely soft, so it’ll definitely feel good on a little one’s skin. And the yarn is really easy to work with. I’m very happy with the choice of yarn. I used a size I (5.5mm)
