There’s something so satisfying about a crochet blanket that feels textured under your fingers—like little soft pebbles or gentle waves. The Pebble Stitch delivers exactly that: a beautiful, textured fabric with a bumpy right side and a mostly flat, cozy wrong side. It’s surprisingly easy once you get the four-row repeat down, and it works up beautifully in worsted weight yarn for quick snuggle-worthy results.
I designed this throw-size blanket (approximately 58″ x 43″) using a simple 4-row repeat that’s beginner-friendly but looks impressively advanced. Once you get the rhythm of the cluster stitches, it’s basically mindless, meditative crocheting. Grab your hook and let’s make something cozy!

Why You’ll Love the Pebble Stitch Blanket:
- Beginner-friendly — only single crochet and cluster stitches
- Gorgeous texture without complicated bobbles or popcorns.
- Reversible-ish — bumpy on one side, subtle ridges on the other.
- Customizable — make it baby size, throw, or bedspread by adjusting your starting chain.
- Works great in solids, self-striping, or variegated yarns.
Design
The pattern is beginner-friendly thanks to its easy four-row repeat. You’ll only need to know single crochet and cluster stitches for the blanket. To finish the blanket off, I used a simple, easy border consisting of single crochet and double crochet stitches, and chains for the border.

Materials
For the Pebble Stitch Crochet Blanket pattern, I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Medium Purple, Yellow, and Orchid. These colors together make it feel like Spring. But for this blanket you can use any #4 worsted weight yarn. I used a size I (5.5mm) hook which worked well with the stitch and yarn combination.
